My name is Giada - pronounced ['dʒa:da], or ['ʒa:ða] in my native Central Italian variety. My pronouns are she/her.
I received my PhD from Utrecht University in 2024, under the supervision of Yoad Winter and Joost Zwarts.
My doctoral research focused on reciprocal verbs, as part of the ERC project ‘Forests and Trees: the Formal Semantics of Collective Categorization’.
After that, I have been a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Bologna.
My research has focused on theoretical linguistics, particularly in cross-linguistic semantics, with recurring themes on plurality-related phenomena, valency-changing operations, (lexical) semantic universals, and the interaction between formal linguistics and typology (and how they can support one another).
As of December 2025, I have left academia and I'm now at De Gruyter Brill.

From July 2024, I’ll join the University of Bologna as a research fellow.
